The lakeside approach was originally dense with vegetation, limiting access and views to the water. Select clearing opened the sightline while preserving the natural landscape. A new wood walkway now leads to the lakeside gathering area with a fire pit, deck, and pier access ramp, extending to a floating dock that connects the property seamlessly to the lake.

    Design & Craftsmanship

The renovation of this lakeside home was approached as a complete reimagining of the property—both inside and out—while preserving the relaxed character of a classic lakefront retreat. Nearly every surface and system within the ~2,400 SF residence was updated, allowing the design to bring cohesion, warmth, and modern functionality to a home that had remained largely unchanged for decades.

Inside, the layout was refined to improve flow between living, dining, and kitchen spaces while maintaining a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere suited for gathering. Natural materials play a central role throughout the home, with warm wood flooring, custom cabinetry, and carefully layered finishes creating a consistent design language across the interior. The kitchen anchors the main living level with natural wood cabinetry, a custom-crafted range hood, handcrafted zellige tile backsplash, and floating shelving that blends display with everyday functionality.

Bathrooms throughout the home—including three full baths and a powder room—were completely rebuilt with new cabinetry, stone surfaces, modern fixtures, and carefully selected finishes that balance durability with refined design. Bedrooms were redesigned to provide calm, comfortable retreats, each themed and incorporating natural textures, warm tones, and improved natural lighting.

Additional living space was created in the finished lower level, including a game room, extending the functionality of the home for recreation and gathering while maintaining continuity with the design of the upper levels.

Exterior improvements were equally substantial. Aging siding was replaced with new cedar paneling, restoring the hoe's classic lakeside character while improving durability and performance. Outdoor living areas were expanded with a new wraparound deck designed to capture views of the water and surrounding landscape. A new pier access ramp and floating dock further extend the connection between the home and the lake, creating a seamless transition between indoor living and waterfront recreaction.

The result is a fully renewed lakeside residence where thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and natural materials come together to create a timeless home built for life on the water.
